SATURN'S RETURN - Doomed - Benedict

Chicago, Illinois

MONOLOGUE DESCRIPTION

Time: Contemporary

Situation: Benedict, one of a gay couple, imagines what he would say at his son's funeral if he could. He confronts the boy who bullied his child.

Subject Matter: Grief, Rage, Hate, Complexity of Loss, Fatherhood, Bullies

Note from Playwright: Benedict is about to address the gathered family and friends at his son's funeral. In the monologue he imagines what he would like to say but can't. This should give the actor the freedom to express rage when social norms might call for a more comforting tone.
