Rob Gruen

BIOGRAPHY

As a DGA director, Rob Gruen won a Gold Medal at the New York Film Festival.



A media consultant specializing in television network creation, broadcast and cable marketing and design, Gruen played a vital role in the development of projects such as the launch and positioning of Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, VH-1, and Showtime.



He produced recording artists for CBS and Arista Records.



As a painter, Gruen had his first one-man show at the Bonnier Gallery in SoHo, New York.



Gruen produced, wrote, directed and edited a documentary about an exploration for ancient tunnels and tombs beneath the Giza Plateau, Cairo, Egypt. He completed the film for the University Scholars Program at the City University of New York - the first program of its kind in the nation.



For years, he was the president of the new division of Ogilvy & Mather set up to create profitable relationships for clients outside the conventional boundaries of advertising campaigns.



Rob Gruen has consulted for MTV Networks, Viacom, Time Warner, Digi &, NBC, ABC, Travel Channel, Lifetime, CBS News, New York University Child Study Center, the Klingenstein Foundation, the Schor Foundation, and CMA, the German Agricultural Marking Board.

I consider myself an emerging playwright because the specific goals I have set for my work center on issues of our time that would benefit from dramatic contemplation, rather than merely being contested in opposing media outlets.
