MILF - Lucy

Rock Hill, South Carolina

MONOLOGUE DESCRIPTION

Time: Present

Situation: Lucy's daughter has died. She is no longer a mother but doesn't know who she is without that moniker. She rediscovers her sexuality and discovers she is considered a MILF.

Subject Matter: Sex, Patriarchy, Motherhood, Attractiveness

Note from Playwright: Mourning After the Night Before is about the many ways people drown in life/labels/loss and how the words you use matter and affect the meaning people take from them, so in writing this monologue I played with the sounds of language as well as the layers of what those words mean.
