D.J. Kramer

D.J. Kramer first began writing and publishing poetry in local newspapers  while in grade school. Growing up in Queens, New York she always had a journal nearby and dabbled in playwriting during a brief stint as an actress, and in songwriting during an even briefer stint as a singer. While earning her bachelor’s degree in American Studies at Columbia University she served as the poetry editor for the Columbia Observer. Following graduation she assisted in the writing and editing of several screenplays for a wealthy eccentric with dreams of grandeur. Young love and beautiful foliage moved her away from the streets of the city to the snowcapped mountains of New Hampshire where she is currently pursuing her writing career while raising two children, three dogs, and trying to convince her husband to move somewhere warmer.

D.J. Kramer is an active member of the Jackson Women's Writer Group and the New Hampshire Writer's Project, as well as a contributor to the BLUNT moms website.

I specialize in character-driven work in the areas of Women's Fiction, Short Stories, poetry, and personal essays. Much of my work focuses on the journey of each character toward self-empowerment and self-acceptance.
