BURST - Weaver

Salt Lake City, Utah

PLAY DESCRIPTION

As Tactix, an environmental tech company, sits on the verge of its next round of funding, founder and CEO Sarah Boyd must persevere through a late-night interview with a particularly tough reporter and the waffling of her CTO Jennifer Weaver. It's a heavy load, and Sarah knows that she is the only one great enough to bear it.

MONOLOGUE DESCRIPTION

Time: Today

Situation: Jennifer Weaver, Chief Technology Officer, is attempting to get her friend and CEO, Sarah Boyd, to drop a suit their company has brought against their former professor, or at the very least excuse her from giving a testimony.

Subject Matter: Technology, Start-Up, Women In The Workplace, Gender Roles, Office, Anxiety, Timidity, Courage

Note from Playwright: There are so many plays that take place in a work-place that focus entirely on men, I wanted to write an office play for female performers to sink their teeth into.
