After receiving unexpected news, Nino Antonio Cruz, a Dominican man living in New York City's Washington Heights neighborhood with his two sons, is forced to confront his mortality and the dark secrets that have plagued his family for generations which are intrinsically tied to the Caribbean island's political history.

MONOLOGUE DESCRIPTION

Time: Contemporary                                

Situation: Brothers Dennis and Sergio have just smoked a joint. Sergio has decided he is moving out of the Washington Heights, New York apartment they share with their difficult father and start a new life. Dennis, a stuttering, unfocused street thug, works on convincing his brother to stay and not leave him stuck with taking care of their father.
