Asher Wyndham (he/him/his) is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada. His plays have been produced all over the United States, also Canada, England and Australia. Theatres that have developed his work include Theatre InspiraTO in Toronto; Insignificant Theatre in London; Movement Theatre Company in NYC; Wordsmyth Theater Company and Mildred's Umbrella in Houston. He specializes in monologues for adults, pre-teens, teens, and kids. His collection of monologues for adults is titled SOME AMERICANS: SOME MONOLOGUES. His play CASSIUS SARGENT'S CHICKEN BONES was awarded the John Cauble Award for Outstanding Short Play and a fellowship to the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference from the Kennedy Center, and a mainstage reading and the Holland New Voices Award from the Great Plains Theatre Conference in Omaha. His play ALLEGRA (now titled THE PLATYPODES) was a semi-finalist for the Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference and a national finalist for the David Cohen Award from the Kennedy Center's ACTF. His short plays are published by Original Works Publishing, Smith & Kraus, Dramatic Publishing, YouthPlays, and Applause. He studied playwriting under the late Lanford Wilson at the Edward Albee New Playwrights Workshop at the University of Houston. He's a member of the Playwrights' Center. He lives in Minneapolis.
