American Dreams - Craig

New York, New York

MONOLOGUE DESCRIPTION

Time: Contemporary

Situation: Craig and his wife are going out for the night. His wife is tying his tie as he smiles adoringly at her. As she does, we learn what's really going on in his mind.

Subject Matter: Infidelity, Double Life, Life on the Downlow, Cad, Cheating

Note from Playwright: I've known a few married men who are happily married and still have lovers on the side, both men and women. They have learned to compartmentalize their love life. That fascinated me, how they could make infidelity just a playful thing.

This monologue was originally published in From Two Minutes and Under, Volume 3 by Smith and Kraus.
