Ada A.
BIOGRAPHY
My name is Ada A., and I am a Chicago-based playwright and dramaturg.
NOTE FROM PLAYWRIGHT
I write to myself, for myself, against myself, and with myself.
I am interested in questions of community and identity. I am interested in the idea of righteous conformity and neighborly intimacy. Actors should know that I strive to write the underbelly of the ideas that live in "culture." I don't write for resolution rather I hope what I write makes you feel something, anything...all the things.
If asked, why writing? Why not another trade or vocation? I have to confess that I am in a constant sense of self-reflection, and to do that well means to be utterly and unabashedly honest about the things I believe and the observations I witness. I am driven to write because it is the only way I make sense of the world in which I live.
